Fantastic

I got this bag 10 years ago. I’m an ICU doctor and carry this bag with me to the hospital every day as well as on trips. Amazing bag. Amazing quality. Get complimented on my bag all the time. The motto of “they’ll fight over it when you’re dead” sounds about right.

Front Pocket Leather Briefcase

Just unpacked my goodie bag in Abu Dhabi. The main item was the front pocket leather briefcase. After a lengthy spell of indecision between the various briefcases and colors, I took the plunge to replace my tattered Mont Blanc leather briefcase.

The first thing that struck by opening the package, was the care in wrapping and boxing the products acquired (the personal Leather birthday card was a nice touch!). Opening the plastic bag, I was immediately overwhelmed by the smell of great leather - wow!

What can I say about the quality that hasn't been said by countless customers before. It's great - the quality of the leather, the buttery softness of the pigskin, the minute details of the stitching, carrying flexibility (the standard carrying handle is perfect ergonomically) and enough storage space, without being clumsy.

I do have one critical comment: Saddleback Leather require better copywriters - your current one's do not do justice to your products (ok, that's tongue in cheek)

One recommendation: the little leather patches will be great as fridge magnets! (You can send me the first one)

I guess I will be frequent client ....... keep up the great work.

This IS a Saddleback!

Eight years ago, I was in the market for a new briefcase. I was at a stage in my career that I wanted this one to be a good quality leather briefcase. I must have scoured the internet for months, looking for the ideal bag and bookmarking several companies and retail sellers. In all that search, I was never able to feel comfortable enough to pull the trigger on a purchase. I remember reading the reviews of various bags, and if I read one review of a leather bag, I read many of them with this similar phrase: "It's a nice bag but it's not a Saddleback." As my search to find out what this "Saddleback" was all about, I came upon their website. I felt like a kid getting the Sears Christmas catalogue out of the mailbox excited to see all the new toys out for the year! I read about all the bags, how they were engineered, how they were made, and I watched the videos that Dave had produced. I knew then that this was the bag that I was looking for. I ordered the FPBC in Tobacco and it has been my EDC ever since. It has held up well, rugged looking as the day I received it and has developed a wonderful patina. So I purchased this bag once again, but this time as a gift for a dear friend who, a couple years ago, had acquired, what I would call, a "Saddleback" knock-off. During that time, watching him use his bag as an EDC and hearing his disappointment when a strap broke or hardware malfunctioned or when a seam became loose, I couldn't help but say to myself, "Yeah, it's NOT a Saddleback." So when the 20th Anniversary sale happened, I took this as an opportunity to buy this for my friend. Even if he is just half a satisfied as I am with mine, he will be blessed by the use it.

Front Pocket Briefcase - 8 Years in

This bag just keeps getting better. I am in construction and my briefcase takes a beating. I use one end pocket for glasses case and the other for small tools (flashlight, knife & leatherman) The interior of the bag holds an IPad, notebook & laptop on one side and the other side is for my cord bag and random other items. The two front pockets are for all the random stuff you need to carry and they hold a ton. The bag is unending, at some point you just realize that this bag will in fact outlast me. I have been using (beating) this bag for 8 years and it just looks better! I know these are expensive, but do not hesitate. I love this bag, every couple of years I use the cleaner and leather milk on it and that’s it. It has been wet, smashed, dragged, and left outside. I actually left it in the bed of my truck for a full day in the rain, it didn’t care and my laptop was actually DRY! These are the real deal, they dont wear out, they just get better.

The last breifcase you will ever buy

Ive only owned this for a week, but I can see that it will outlast the 100 Year Warranty. Its true, They will fight over it after your dead. I have probably spent twice as much buying average briefcases every 2-3 years over the last two decades. That stops now, This is the last briefcase I will ever buy. Im looking forward to buying a travel Duffel

Design of the Leather Briefcase

This full grain leather briefcase is over-engineered to last a lifetime (or a few lifetimes). There are no breakable parts like zippers, magnets, snaps, or buttons. Every stress point is reinforced with rivets and hidden polyester strapping. And it's built with the largest pieces of leather possible. It's lined with pigskin and has a false bottom to hide your passport, spare cash, or other secret things. The two front pockets have pockets behind them too. This leather briefcase fits a 17" laptop and can be worn in backmade mode.

When choosing a leather briefcase, be sure to look for quality in terms of materials and craftsmanship.

Materials in our Leather Briefcase Backpack

This leather briefcase is made of Full Grain Leather, which is the strongest there is. Leather is like a roof. First, there is plywood, tar paper, and then shingles. The grain is like shingles. It's the toughest and most water-resistant part of the leather. And then, we line the leather with pigskin, which is more durable than cow skin. Our thread is some of the best in the world. The strong industrial marine-grade polyester thread doesn't deteriorate like Nylon when the sun touches it. Our custom hardware is 316 Stainless Steel which means our clasps can hold up to a 750 lb. bag of cats. It's the metal of choice for when your life depends on it.

All of Our Leather Bags Use Full Grain Leather

We only use full grain leather. Sure, we pay a higher price to purchase full grain leather to make our bags. And we pay more by using traditional craftsmanship. To us, these are essentials to offering a leather briefcase with a 100 year warranty.

The Hardware in our Leather Backpack Briefcase

The hardware on this backpack briefcase is all 316 Surgical Grade Stainless Steel. That's the good stuff. The kind that doesn't corrode, pit, or rust like other metals. It's the best for when your life depends on it, and it's what we use because your life could depend on this briefcase (ya never know, right?).

This leather briefcase is designed for durability with no weak points, and features a light colored pigskin lining for visibility.

Polyester, Great for Strong Thread in Leather Bags, but Not Great for Underwear

Polyester is awful for underwear or sheets, but it is the best for thread. We found the strongest polyester thread and used it in our leather bags. It's a marine-grade, UV resistent polyester thread that doesn't deteriorate when sun hits it.

Leather Briefcases Lined With Pigskin

Did you know pigskin is actually stronger than cowhide? It is, and that's what we line our leather briefcases with. Not only is it stronger, but it is also more flexible and has a nice feel. We could have left it with just thick full grain leather, but we wanted to give you the best of the best. By using both, you get the best for the inside and the outside of this large briefcase.

The Functionality of Our Leather Briefcase Backpacks

Most of our leather briefcases convert into backpacks, including this one. Run the adjustable shoulder strap through the o-ring on the back of the briefcase, and clip it to the d-rings on the bottom. Now your hands are free to carry more luggage through the airport. This leather briefcase has a false bottom to hide your passport, spare cash, and other secret things. The d-rings are great for strapping on blankets, jackets, and wet sandals. And even the main strap has a hole at the very tip, just in case you overstuff your bag or want to put an umbrella under the flap. The two front pockets actually have pockets behind them too.

This briefcase has a key strap and a magazine pocket.

Internal Pockets

Two small internal pockets are located in the main compartment, which is great for holding things such as pens, pencils, and other things that you might put in small pockets. The internal compartment is split into two main areas with a large capacity to hold a large laptop or two. So you can fit that huge 17" laptop in here without a problem.

External Pockets that Mean Business

These larger pockets are buckled closed, so you don't have to worry as much about someone coming and opening it up quickly and taking anything. And behind each external pocket, you will find a hidden pocket. This pocket is great for things you might access more often, such as a cell phone or a USB hub, depending on how secure you need it to be and your own packing method.

Hidden Compartment In This Leather Backpack Briefcase

Yes, this briefcase has a hidden compartment that is large enough to fit a passport. It is located on the bottom of the leather bag and can be easily accessed by lifting a strip of leather. You will see it right away. The false bottom is great for hiding things such as money, your passport, or anything else you might not want anyone to find.

The different colors of this Thin Leather Briefcase are black, chestnut, dark coffee brown, and natural color of tobacco brown. It offers a sleek style and is perfect for a 15" laptop.

Emergency Cigar Holder

When I tell you we thought of everything, we did. In between the front pockets is a pocket that is good for carrying a cigar, a flashlight, pens or pencils, or Epi pens.

Removable Shoulder Straps

Not everyone wants a shoulder strap; they might prefer the hand strap, and for the backpack feature, we made it removable. The durable shoulder strap is also made of the finest full grain leather, just like our leather bags, and has the same quality stainless steel hardware. In addition, it is super strong, so no matter what you carry, it can handle the weight more than any other leather backpack or bag out there.

A Unique Leather Briefcase Laptop Bag

Not only is it sturdy, hard wearing, and elegant with a great style, but it is also more unique than most. This grabs attention and makes it easier to remember you. After a meeting with this, people will talk about you as the guy with the cool briefcase. You can solve world hunger, and they will walk away saying, "remember the guy with the incredible leather briefcase that solved world hunger?" Or you give a presentation to a client and get the job because they want to see the Saddleback leather briefcase again.

Great for Traveling

It is also functional as a great carry-on for short trips or long trips. You can fit your large laptop and maybe even a change of clothes and other gear. For example, you might not want to put your suit jacket inside, but an extra t-shirt and shorts to wear.

A Sweet Nighttime Story for Little Ones

When the Costa Rican cop tried to pull us over, we decided we didn't have the time or money for that, so we didn't stop. The adrenaline flowed through our veins like used beer through the Munich sewers during Oktoberfest. And I believe my Leather Briefcase in the back gave us courage. This reminded me of our other trip to Tunisia, North Africa, but Jonathan had a diplomatic passport then, so it didn't bother us to stop.

When my little brother, Jonathan, who now handles corporate sales for me, downshifted and put on the gas, I looked back and saw the cop running to his car. Well, there was so much traffic on that road that it must have taken a little bit for him to merge onto the street. And by then, we had put a good number more cars between us. So over the next 10 minutes, we flew over some hills, smashed dozens of potholes, and passed a bunch more cars on the crowded highway.

Did you know that you hardly feel it if you hit a fairly big pothole at 80 mph?

Good thing for us, Costa Rica is known for having more potholes than there are stars in the heavens, and that's what helped us out. The cop had to slow down to go around them so he wouldn't destroy his car, and we were driving a rental car. That would have been different if it had been a Land Cruiser or a leather briefcase. After about 10 minutes at breakneck speeds, we turned down a little side road just in case the policeman had radioed ahead. And a glorious side road it was. It was an absolutely gorgeous place to explore, complete with waterfalls, while we let everything calm down. That cop never did catch us, so technically, I guess the chase is still on.

Now I can't guarantee you'll enjoy that much adrenaline running through your veins if you take the risk and get this awesome quality briefcase, but I'm not saying you won't. Believe me; you'll love it and won't regret it for a second. And it will give you courage and possibly more strength to do the right thing at the right time. Serious.

But hear me loud and clear, I'm not suggesting that it's okay to try to outrun the police, and I don't condone it. In fact, it was wrong, and Jonathan shouldn't have done it. It was all his fault. But it was a lot of fun.
