The Filipinas were cooking rice when a brownout (no electricity) went down. No problem. They fired up my charcoal chimney and put the rice pot directly over the hot coals. I was impressed with their engineering skills. Marjoy took over the barbecue grill and cooked up some delicious pork chops for supper. Big Pumpkin and Janice went shopping and brought back a HUGE wardrobe for the kid’s clothes. They made several unauthorized purchases that put me 1,500 Pesos in the hole!
