$3.10 USD “Bear Grylls Gerber Knife” from Lazada in the Philippines – Will it CHOP Vegetables?

I was looking around for some knives to chop vegetables during my cooking show. Somehow, I stumbled onto these Bear Grylls folding knives on Lazada.

If you’re not familiar, Lazada is sort of like amazon. You can pay cash on delivery when the motorbike driver brings you the package.

Anyway, these knives were 158 Pesos which is about $3.10 USD. Obviously we have to assume from the price that they’re fakes. BUT, they could have “fallen off of a truck” in China, since the real ones are Made in China. These knives are listed for $35 USD on Gerber’s site but they’re out of stock. Once I get my hands on a legitimate one, I’ll do a comparison.

The question is, can these dull knockoff butter cutters actually chop vegetables?

If you’re lookin to buy a Gerber knife, get it from GERBER! Here’s their website: https://www.gerbergear.com/en-us

OR, it’s also available on REI for $69.95 which is 5 pennies less than the price on Gerber’s site!

If you order items like this from Ebay, amazon, Lazada, etc., it’s highly probable you’re going to end up with a fake. Order straight from the manufacturer and you don’t have that problem. Legitimate GERBER knives are quality and they make a lot of their products in the U.S.A.

I’m looking at purchasing the Gerber Strongarm for $70 USD (MADE IN THE U.S.A.). I’ll make that my OFFICIAL CHEF KNIFE.

BIG shoutout to whoever shorted me one knife! I ordered 9 and you sent 8.
