Fatima was giving the kids a shower this morning and Forrest G. wasn’t happy for some reason. After a brief investigation, I discovered she was showering them with cold water. One touch of a button on the water heater and Forrest G. could have been relaxing in a sauna. Her reasoning is we need to stay accustomed to not having hot water and not become dependent on that luxury. Most folks here in The Philippines don’t have hot water heaters connected to their shower head and many don’t even have running water. Does Fatima have a valid point? For 2 years living in her hometown we didn’t have hot water and everyone made it just fine. We took showers by dipping a plastic scoop into trash cans full of cold water. Have we all gotten a bit weak since we’re now living in a big fine mansion with hot water and Western amenities?
